Valentin is Singular’s absolute master of sacred geometry and he’s hit the mark again with this outstanding new piece! Rows of ascending Morning Glory blossoms, rendered in his signature precision geometry, encircle the body of the jacket, while intricate flower wheels dance from the cuffs up half of the sleeves. The design has exquisite symmetry and manages to be both dazzlingly eye-catching, yet understated by his use of negative space.

Royal blue flowers fading to white centers are outlined with Arrellin’s always perfect linear brushwork, and look gorgeous on the glimmering gold silk. We still can’t believe these are hand painted and not printed by a computer algorithm… how does he do it!

Valentin Arrellin's Bio

Zacatecas, Mexico

“I am from Zacatecas, a colonial and mining city in central Mexico. I graduated as a Mining Engineer in 2000 from Zacatecas University and worked on 4 different underground mines for 2 years. After I graduated, I decided I didn’t like mining. I moved to Santa Fe in 2002 and fell in love with its adobe houses, Spanish and Native American culture and its art. All of this inspired me to create and illustrate.”

“Being in engineering school prompted me to fall in love with Geometry. Sacred Geometry caught my attention. It is in everyone, everywhere and everything from the tiniest particle, human bodies, animals, plants, planets, galaxies and the universe itself. My art is based in nature and it’s natural patterns and shapes, from the microcosm to the macrocosm.”

“The study of Sacred Geometry has always been fascinating to me, from both scientific and spiritual points of view. There are times when people who advocate one facet of Sacred Geometry scoff at the people on the other side of the fence. Nonetheless, it cannot be denied that the study of Sacred Geometry, whether for scientific or spiritual purposes, is something that can blow the mind away.”
