We love the message of this social commentary piece by contemporary artist Michael Namingha! I mean, really....how dare we, right? Namingha shows his New York educated design sense with his choice of shimmery gunmetal grey on black for an elegant, minimalist presentation. The restrained color and contrast just adds to the quiet punch of the tongue in cheek, but hard-hitting statement.
Wouldn't you love to start a few conversations when you wear this coat to an art opening or special event? We guarantee you'll generate smiles– and ruffle a feather or two– in this one over basic black with a single contemporary silver necklace and cuff bracelet. Stand your ground with "Speculation" and spawn some ideas for our "me too" world.

Micheal Namingha lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is from a family of accomplished artists. He is a multidisciplinary artist with a spare, contemporary aesthetic. A keen observer of today’s society, he creates a compelling mix of imagery and words commenting on modern impersonal relations and contemporary culture. His ability to distill everyday conversational statements results in work that surprises and engages the viewer. His current body of work explores the vanishing and changing landscape of the American West.
Namingha received his BBA in Design and Management from Parsons School of Design in New York City and attended Master Classes at the Santa Fe Art Institute in 1996-97. His work can be found in a number of public collections, including the Denver Art Museum, Denver, Colorado, Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, Massachusetts, Newark Museum, Newark, New Jersey and the Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, California.
