"Buttons" Art Coat by Valentin Arrellin

"Buttons" is a more lighthearted and understated piece by artist Valentin Arrellin. Perfectly outlined circles, or "buttons," are placed in vertical rows with alternating five petal floral motifs in turquoise and gold, all with Arrellin's signature precision brushwork. A single ten petaled flower in gold is placed at the bottom of the center back, with another five-petaled gold flower accenting the upper front left side as playful design surprises. The stunning hot pink silk lining adds another surprise touch with a pop of color at the collar and cuffs.
Wear this piece over a black top and slim dress pant with gold jewelry for a look that is light and pretty. You can even dress this one down with a nice stretch black tee and skinny jeans for a favorite luncheon.

Valentin Arrellin's Bio

Zacatecas, Mexico

“I am from Zacatecas, a colonial and mining city in central Mexico. I graduated as a Mining Engineer in 2000 from Zacatecas University and worked on 4 different underground mines for 2 years. After I graduated, I decided I didn’t like mining. I moved to Santa Fe in 2002 and fell in love with its adobe houses, Spanish and Native American culture and its art. All of this inspired me to create and illustrate.”

“Being in engineering school prompted me to fall in love with Geometry. Sacred Geometry caught my attention. It is in everyone, everywhere and everything from the tiniest particle, human bodies, animals, plants, planets, galaxies and the universe itself. My art is based in nature and it’s natural patterns and shapes, from the microcosm to the macrocosm.”

“The study of Sacred Geometry has always been fascinating to me, from both scientific and spiritual points of view. There are times when people who advocate one facet of Sacred Geometry scoff at the people on the other side of the fence. Nonetheless, it cannot be denied that the study of Sacred Geometry, whether for scientific or spiritual purposes, is something that can blow the mind away.”
